How to get to the Bahamas?
American visitors to the Bahamas are required to carry a valid passport and proof of departure date, whether they are travelling by air or sea. Visitors travelling on a cruise that departs from and returns to a United States port will have their passport card or any other Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative document accepted as proof of identity. Nonetheless, carrying a passport is highly recommended in case of an unexpected emergency. Visitors don’t need a visa if their visit period is less than 90 days.
